Cancer Survivor Month – Celebrating with Our Survivors – There are few words that can change your life as quickly as hearing, “You have cancer.” It’s as if time not only stops, but it simultaneously feels like your mind is racing to the uncertain future. Only this future has its own schedule.
June honors those that defied the odds and took time back into their own hands. At Wigful Thinking, though, we don’t just celebrate Cancer Survivor Month… we celebrate it every day.
Wigful Thinking’s founder and owner, Caryl Criscio, is a two-time cancer survivor.
Knowing so many others were experiencing a similar journey, Caryl was committed to creating a compassionate space for one of the most emotionally challenging aspects of cancer treatment: hair loss.
In addition to the physical symptoms, the stress and uncertainty created by cancer impacts mental health as well. When much of daily life becomes unpredictable, finding trusted resources is essential.
We realize that choosing the right wig isn’t the primary concern of those battling a diagnosis, but we also believe in the strength of empowerment. We can’t change circumstances, but we can provide hope and understanding.
We remember the days we wanted to look exactly like our pre-cancer self… and we remember the days we needed a warrior staring us back in the mirror. The right wig can set the tone for both.
Cancer may take hair and tissue, but it can’t take spirit.
Yes, in June we honor cancer survivors… but in our eyes, every cancer patient is a warrior. And we cherish our warriors every single day. All year long!
Though our doors are currently closed, we welcome phone calls and emails to answer questions, help identify your wig needs, and schedule appointments! We are now accepting appointments for June 17th and forward! When we reopen, we will be open Wednesday through Saturday to give us time to deep clean the studio in between!
